General information
ISTATALK-L is a private, unmoderated electronic discussion list for members of the Illinois Science Teachers Association (ISTA) . The list is intended to help promote excellence and innovation in science teaching.
Subscribing to the discussion list
The discussion list is open to ISTA members only. If you are a member and would like to subscribe to the list, please send email to: talk-subscribe@ista-il.org
Unsubscribing from the discussion list
To unsubscribe from the discussion list, all you need to do is send an email message to the address talk-unsubscribe@ista-il.org.
Sending Mail to the discussion list
To send a message to all the members of the discusison list, compose your email message as usual and send it to the list address: talk@ista-il.org
Setting Mail Options for the discussion list
There are many different mail options for the discussion list. Two of which you may wish to be aware are:
- Digest
- Instead of receiving every message sent to the list, you can receive a daily digest of the list's traffic. To turn this on, send an email with the text "set digest mime" to talk-request@ista-il.org. To turn it off, send an email with the text "set digest off" to the same address.
- Suspension of Delivery
- If you will not be reading email for an extended period of time, you may want to suspend delivery of the list's messages. To do this, send an email with the text "set delivery off" to talk-request@ista-il.org. To re-enable delivery, send an email to the same address with the message "set delivery on".
Other options for the list exist; you can get a listing of all of them by sending an email with the text "set help" to talk-request@ista-il.org.
List Archives
Messages posted to the discussion list will be archived. Due to a change in mailing list software, there are two separate archives:
- Messages through mid-April 2007 are available at: http://www.ista-il.org/istatalk/index.html
- More recent messages are archived at: https://lists.imsa.edu/pipermail/talk/.
