snail mail them the following invitation?

Dear Teacher,

As a teacher-leader, you are invited to serve as your school's Point
of Contact for science as part of a national grant called Building a
Presence for Science, currently in 27 states. The program is
administered by the National Science Teachers Association and funded
by the ExxonMobil Foundation. The goal is to identify one Point of
Contact in each of the 5,183 public and private schools in Illinois.
As the Point of Contact for your school, you will be connected
electronically to the Illinois science education community, at the
state and national levels. You can expect to receive up to five
messages per month relevant to science education, including grant
opportunities, awards, and the latest information on assessment and
legislation which directly affects you as a teacher. Your only
responsibility as Point of Contact is to pass this valuable
information on to other teachers in your school.

To join the network, email your name, school, and city to Sherry
