[ISTATALK-L] very important notice
Hello dearest ISTA Members,
After 17 years of dedication, devotion and countless actions of support and
leadership to ISTA, our Executive Director, Diana Dummitt is forwarding the
following message to us:
Dear Members,
The purpose of this note is to formally resign as Executive Director of the
Illinois Science Teachers Association. My last day working for the
Association will be January 14, 2005. I will continue to chair the NSTA
Regional in Chicago November 2005 and will be happy serve as advisor to the
organization during the transition
Thanks for all of your support over the years,
Diana
While we congratulate Diana on her new important career move, we know that
we will feel her departure deeply. We also send our sincerest and heart
filled thoughts of appreciation and gratitude for her tremendous
contributions to our organization. Her legacy to the organization will be
with us always.
In light of Diana's embarkment on her new career, the Exec Board has
developed a plan for this transition. For the interim period of Jan-June
2005, Ray Dagenais has graciously volunteered to serve as Interim Executive
Director. Please feel free to contact him directly about any ISTA matters.
Your input about the future of our organization is critical so we are
asking you to ponder the possibilities of the future of our
organization. We are planning to have an in depth discussion about these
matters at our March 4-5 Board Meeting. To begin discussion, some options
that the Exec Board presented include: Option A: Solicitation for an
Executive Director; Option B: Continuation of an interim Exec Director for
the remaining year; and Option C: Infrastructure re-organization ( a new
organizational structure). Your perspectives and ideas are very important.
Thank you so much for all that you do and for all that you contribute to
the betterment of science education and to Diana, we are forever grateful
for your leadership and devotion to ISTA.
best wishes,
Marylin
