Training Workshops Offered by the Illinois Mathematics
and Science Academy ®
With
Google’s
recent announcement to convert major library holdings into Web files,
students
need help, now more than ever, in managing vast amounts of information.
As science educators, are you ready to help
students conduct their online research?
Through its 21st
Century Information Fluency (21CIF) project, the Illinois Mathematics
and Science
Academy (IMSA) invites ISTA members to register for one-day workshops
on the
art of locating, evaluating and using Internet resources in the
classroom. These
courses are designed for educators who are interested in improving
their own Internet
searching skills and teaching others to do the same. The workshop,
which offers
7 CPDUS, includes an overview of basic Internet strategies and online
tools
that you can use in the classroom.
Funded by a grant
from the U.S. Department of Education – Funds for the Advancement of
Education,
the workshops are offered to you at no charge. To
register for a spring or summer workshop
