[ISTATALK-L] Environment and Culture
Exploring the Ecology of China
June 2 - 16, 2005
Often considered a cultural Mecca, China is rising in the ranks as a
popular natural history destination. Well established projects devoted to
conservation of local fauna, coupled with incredible geographical features
make China a destination not to be missed.
Join Dr. Marylin Lisowski, President of the Illinois Science Teacher's
Association, and Dr. Bob Williams of The River's Project, as we explore the
ecological wonders and rich cultural heritage on this 15 day exploration of
China!
Itinerary Highlights
Travel into a world of giant pandas, wild elephants, birding, botany, and
wetlands. Incredible natural and cultural history all in one location!
Visit the Giant Panda Breeding Station, breeding pandas under the auspices
of the World Wildlife Fund.
Explore Wolong Nature Reserve and look for Giant Pandas, golden monkeys,

species found in Yunnan.
Spend a night in a tree house in Sanchahe nature Reserve waiting for
