WANT A HOT NIGHT ON THE TOWN IN PEORIA?
Come to the ISTA conference November 2nd through 4th and join in the Friday
evening gala at Lakeview Museum.  The Groove Daddies band from Springfield
will be playing the hits many of us grew up with.  While you're at the gala,
tour the museum gallery, visit the gift shop, take in a laser light show in
the planetarium, network with fellow teachers, eat great food, and dance the
night away. At $10 it's a real bargain!

The theme of this year?s annual conference is "A Vision of Excellence: Building
the Future through Science Education."  Put together your own vision by
participating in these fabulous features:

?	NASA's "MISSION TO MARS" preconference  Take this new standards-based
module out for a test run.  You'll get the whole program to take back to your
classroom, including background information and assessment materials.  Pre-
registration is required for the preconference.
?	Over a hundred interesting break-out sessions for all grade levels and
subject area on Friday and Saturday!
?	Offsite sessions Thursday afternoon on Geocaching at Wildlife Prairie
State Park and Teachable Moments in the Out-of-Doors at Forest Park Nature
Center! Pre-registration is required.
?	The exhibit hall packed with vendors and free give-aways!
?	Special sessions for pre-service and new teachers!
