The 2006 ISTA Conference is THIS WEEKEND!  Join us in Peoria November 2-4 for A
Vision of Excellence: Building the Future Through Science Education

You can register on site for some great deals to give your science teaching
vision a boost!

And here?s a new opportunity, just in!

Come and participate in some star gazing at ISTA's annual conference in Peoria
this week!!
Meet at Lakeview Museum's booth in the Exhibit Hall at 5:50 on Thursday, Nov.
2nd or at the front door of Lakeview Museum in Peoria at 6:15 (for those not
attending the exhibit hall reception), We will carpool to Lakeview, and then to
the observatories (dependent on weather and observing conditions).  We will
visit Northmoor Observatory on Donovan Golf Course, which houses a 9²
refractor, with a lens made in 1909 by the famous classic French optician,
Petididier, the same man who ground lenses for Michelson's famous experiment.
The telescope is an antique masterpiece by anyone's standards and worth looking
at, if not through.
If the weather is cooperative we may continue the Peoria Astronomical Society's
dark sky observing site, Jubilee Observatory in Jubilee State Park to continue
our observing.
