WaterCLEAR is -

a year long collaborative project designed for high school science teachers sponsored by WaterCAMPWS with the University of Illinois Office of Educational Technology.

a partnership of teachers who will integrate and implement water

purification curriculum modules aligned to Illinois Science Standards and customized to their own learning objectives

· an opportunity to stay at the absolute cutting edge of scientific

innovation while at the same time refining their classroom teaching strategies

BENEFITS FOR PARTICIPANTS

Teachers will:

· receive a collection of water purification technologies and lab

equipment for their classroom or lab

· develop a sophisticated collection of curriculum modules and labs that are aligned to State Learning Standards based on sound educational pedagogy and customized to their learning objectives

· hone their classroom teaching skills and their own scientific research skills

· experiment with revolutionary new technologies in an intensive RET program opportunity

· nominate their students for WaterTEC and other WaterCAMPWS programs including high school internships and undergraduate research opportunities
