Its time to secure YOUR summer institute & PD opportunities!

 

If you are a fulltime teacher who enjoys learning science and teaching science, likes to collaborate with other colleagues and experts, and would like to extent your content knowledge, inquiry and pedagogy skills over several years….there is a fantastic opportunity for you beginning this summer (2007) at Argonne National Laboratory near Chicago Illinois. The program is called Academies Creating Teacher Scientists (ACTS).  This is a national program offered at 4 other DOE labs across the country.

 

Additional perks:  $800 weekly summer stipend & travel expense plus yearly classroom & conference grants. Six semester hours of university credit is available each summer.

Argonne is a Department of Energy multi-discipline research facility that does world-class research with extraordinary tools. Its 1700 acre campus is nestled within beautiful Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve.  It is 30 minutes from countless sightseeing and recreational activities - albeit downtown Chicago or at surrounding communities.
