This is the year for the scheduled return of the cicadas in northern Illinois, AKA "the 17 year locusts." Does anyone out there have any materials or any plans for lessons / units for their students, at any grade level (I teach junior high) centered on the life cycle of the cicadas, either for their own sake or as an example of an insect life cycle? Thanks.
