Five ISTA officers are elected by all voting ISTA members for a two year term starting in March of odd years.
The Elections Committee, chaired by the past-president, encourages and seeks nominations and tries to have at least two nominees for each position. Officer responsibilities are prescribed in the ISTA Bylaws. These five officers are the voting members of the executive committee.

The Treasurer and Executive Director are appointed by the board according to ISTA Bylaws and adopted procedure. These two officers are non-voting ex officio members of the board and executive committee and their responsibilities are specifically prescribed in the ISTA bylaws.
